Rachel Brathen, known as Yoga Girl to her 1.7 million followers, made a big announcement today: The official launch of 109 World.

109 World is an initiative that focuses on making positive change around the world through specific campaigns that target seven pressing global issues including the environment, female empowerment, world hunger, animal rescue and wildlife conservation, education, the well-being and safety of children, and clean water.

The meaning behind 109 in the initiative’s name is that mala beads have 108 beads, and it’s the 109th bead that connects the circle. It’s the pause for gratitude, Brathen tells SELF.

The inaugural campaign, #109water, will focus on raising awareness and providing the community of Playa Gigante, Nicaragua with safe potable water. While Brathen and the 109 World team originally visited the community with the intention of starting an education-based project, she saw that access to safe water was a more urgent need. #109water kicks off today and includes a Q&A on Periscope on Thursday, a week-long Instagram challenge on Friday, and more, including a social mission trip in April—exactly 109 days from today.

You can get involved with this project or others by sharing the message and donating to the campaign Brathen says. “People don’t want to just feel good, they want to do good,” Brathen says. And here’s one way to do just that.
