Welcome, friend! I am so excited this day has finally come. Welcome to my brand new website!! Or brand new might be a stretch; I first launched rachelbrathen.com back in 2013 so it’s actually more of a revival!
Isn’t it beautiful? I’m in love with this new logo, and the colors, and the illustrations… Feels very “me”, here, now, in 2024. Very different from a decade ago!
I’ve been wanting to bring this website back to life for a long time and after a lot of waiting for the perfect time I decided to just go for it. If you’ve followed me for a while you might remember the days of rachelbrathen.com. This was many years ago; before I created the Yoga Girl platform, before we had the yoga studio, before I had any babies… When all I had was an Instagram account and a longing to build community. rachelbrathen.com was where I came to write, to blog, to share. I even had a weekly newsletter that went out like clockwork on Fridays (imagine!).
When I created oneOeight, which would eventually transform into yogagirl.com, I decided to shut this site down so that there wouldn’t be any confusion between my offerings. All my content would exist under the Yoga Girl brand, and live on the same platform. And it made sense! Until now. You’ve probably noticed – the content I share these days isn’t very yoga centered anymore. To be honest, my life isn’t very yoga centered anymore! I still have my mat rolled out in the living room at all times; I’ll always be on the mat at some point every day, and yoga will always be the practice that forever changed my life in so many marvellous ways. But along with so much in my life, the way I live and breathe the practice has changed. Where yoga used to be the absolute center of my life, I’ve picked up many other tools that support my wellbeing in different ways that I feel inspired to share, too. Nothing has changed over at Yoga Girl – it’s still the yoga and meditation platform you know and love, and it’s where my online courses and classes will continue to live – but as that platform has continued to grow and evolve into something much bigger than just me, I wanted my own little corner of the internet again. A place to share what’s on my mind and my heart. Where I can talk about motherhood, my journey toward wellbeing, life in Sweden, gardening, homesteading, the ups and downs of regular life… An online home of my own. So, here we are. Welcome! I’m really, really glad you’re here.
As you can tell there is a lot to this site, so let me break it down. The blog (where you are now) is pretty straight forward. It’s where I will share more of my writing; thoughts, musings, little practices, recipes… Basically, everything I want to share that might not align with the energy of an Instagram post. rachelbrathen.com is also the new home for my two podcasts, From The Heart and Self-Care Daily. You can listen directly here under the Podcast tab, or come to the site to search for specific episodes and redirect to your favorite listening platform. I also have a store in the works here on the site where I have added some of my favourite products that will open soon!
You also might have noticed the “Offerings” tab above. This one really excites me! This is where you can get information about my upcoming live sessions, retreats, or inquire about astrology and coaching sessions (I’ll be opening a few select spots for this next year!).
It’s been a long time since I created something new (not counting the 17-month old currently asleep in the stroller outside, of course!) and although I’m writing this from the haze of slight sleep deprivation, I can feel my creative spirit starting to move deep within me again. I haven’t taught a retreat in five years and here I am, ready to launch the wildest retreat experience ever (find more information here if you haven’t seen it yet!).
I feel so, so excited to have this beautiful website online. Bookmark the home page so you can find your way back, and sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t already! I’ll show up in your inbox with a little nudge of support right when you least expect it.
Thank you for being here!
All my love,
Rachel
